Claxton Elementary School
Stacey Caskey
Teacher - Grade 4

We would like to honor Lucy. She recently brought in her vast collection of books for the other children in the class to keep. She had a yard sale and was going to sell them but then realized that some of the kids in the classroom would really like them, so she donated them instead!

Steele School
Scott Stolzenberg
Teacher - Music

This month I would like recognize all of the children at Milburn and Steele Schools for helping the needy children who were devistated and affected by Hurricane Katrina. Both schools had a children's clothing drive. Students ransacked their dresser drawers at home and filled boxes in school with both new and old garments that didn't fit anymore! In addition, Milburn students collected coloring books and crayons and Steele students collected coins for the children. Our school leaders felt that it would be extremely important for children to help other children!

I would like to honor Matthew, of class 3-202 for the Random Act of Kindness. As the class was leaving the computer lab Karl dropped his crayons. Matthew stopped to help him pick them up while everyone was rushing out the door. It was a very thoughtful and helpful gesture.

Our class has been eating lunch in the classroom for the last three weeks, Arianna has volunteered on her own to collect garbage and clean drops of milk from the floor. She is very concerned with the safety of her classmates. She wants to make sure that her classmates don't get hurt. Arianna Pomares is an excellent example of RAOK. She cares about her classmates.
On September 23, 2005, our class will honor Arianna with a certificate for being a good citizen.

Avalon Elementary School
Laurie Wood
Teacher - Grade 2

My class' honoree for this month is Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is receiving this honor due to her friendly and outgoing nature. She is always the first to volunteer to help others, say kind words, and tries to empathize with others.
On one of the first days of school, she escorted a fellow classmate and his little brother to our preschool classroom. She directed them to the class and introduced them to the preschool teacher. She also helped take a classmate to the office during lunch recess to get ice for a bump he received while playing and told him she was sorry that he was hurt.
Kaitlyn also helps to clean up the classroom by picking up trash, even if it's not her own. She also offers to share her materials with her tablemates and offers compliments for the good work done by others.
Therefore, we would like to honor Kaitlyn as this month's random act of kindness honoree!

Coconut Creek Elementary School

Our first nomination is Leticia Machado. She is so helpful to others. Whenever someone needs a pencil or piece of paper, Leticia is always there first, offering assistance. If another student requires assistance for anything, Leticia is always there to offer a helping hand.

At a local grocery store, we have to pay 25 cents to use a buggy. After shopping, you can turn the buggy back in and get your quarter back. We went there last week, and after shopping, we left the buggy with our quarter in it so that the next person wouldn't have to pay! When we were leaving, we saw an older lady walking up to get a buggy, we hope she found ours! :)
